The 140 Characters Conference – Central Sierra explores the effects of social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and others) and the emerging real-time Internet on individuals, organizations and regions. The goal is to bring together a diverse group of passionate people both on and off stage, to share their perspective, their experiences and their stories about how the real-time Internet is affecting their industry sectors and the people inside them.

The format is unique and fast-paced. Presentations are limited to 10-20 minutes each (no PowerPoint allowed), to permit as many people as possible to share their stories. Presenters are selected to stimulate discussion across a wide range of sectors including: business, agriculture, government, tourism, education, entertainment, non-profit and more.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support ATCAA’s Central Sierra Connect program which works to “bridge the digital divide” through training efforts in digital literacy.
