It may take as many as two years, or far shorter if you happen to be interested in the S.T.A.R program.

Coastline Community College (CCC) offers many educational opportunities entirely online (you don’t need to drive to the campus). One of which includes getting an AA/AS degree. The summer 2013 semester begins June 18th, but preparation such as application, registration, and orientation need to be completed before that. The Amador Community College Foundation (ACCF) can provide information about it and guide you through this process.

Summer Semester:
Registration-begins May 29th for new/returning students and goes until June 17th. Applications, however, should be submitted prior to May 29th. The first day of class will be June 18th.

If you are interested in this program, [it is offered through Coastline Community College] contact a member of the Amador Community College Foundation (ACCF), and they will be more than happy to answer your questions.

Members of the Curriculum Committee include Dixie Camardo, Janice Davis, and Karen Dickerson. You may contact the Outreach Coordinator, and Vice President of the board, Madeleine Voss.
Madeleine’s email is “mvoss.accf@amadorgov.org” Her office phone# is 209-223-6393 and the office hours are M-Th 10:00pm-12:00pm.

They can introduce you to the program and answer your questions, as well as walk you through the application process, the registration process, and orientation. When the computer lab opens, you will be able to utilize computers and resources there as well.

We have a Weatherization program, which assists folks with weather stripping and insulation and other energy-saving home projects. That program can be reached by calling Valerie at (209) 533-1397, ext 232.

Two other local leads (that folks around our office suggested when I asked) are Catholic Charities at (209) 532-7632 and Helping Hands at (209) 536-1660.
